Wendy Penzel, Psy.D. received her Doctorate in Psychology from Hofstra University, and her formal post-doctoral training includes the Primary Certificate Program in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute. She is a Cognitive/Behavioral therapist who has specialized since 2000 in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults, with particular emphasis on the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (E&RP) for her area of specialty, which is Obsessive/Compulsive Spectrum Disorders. These would include OCD and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. She also specializes in treating Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), including Hair-Pulling Disorder and Excoriation Disorder (Skin-Picking), as well as Panic Disorder and phobias. Dr. Penzel trains and supervises other professionals in the treatment of these disorders, and is an Adjunct Faculty member of Long Island University’s graduate psychology program.
